Do I need a South Dakota hunting license?

Yes. All hunters need a valid South Dakota small-game license. Non-residents can purchase one online via the SD GFP. We'll send you a link when you book.

What season do you run hunts?

Our season runs mid-October through January, with peak action from mid-October through early December. Book early — prime weekends fill 6–9 months in advance.

Question 3

Can I bring my own dog?

Absolutely — well-trained dogs are always welcome. Prefer to travel light? Our experienced dogs are ready to put birds in front of you.

Question 4

What's included in a hunt?

Accepted Answer

Guided field hunting on 3,000 acres of managed habitat, use of our experienced dogs, and access to our man cave between hunts (pool table, darts, poker, TVs, wood stove). Groups are welcome to bring their own food and beverage.

Question 5

How big can my group be?

We specialize in groups of 10 or more, but we host smaller parties too — sometimes as few as 2 hunters. Reach out and we'll tailor a hunt.

Question 6

Can non-hunters come along?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Spouses, kids and friends are welcome to walk the fields with us or hang out in the man cave. Just let us know so we can plan.

What gear should I bring?

Shotgun (12 or 20 ga), non-toxic shot in #4 or #5, blaze orange hat + vest, upland boots, brush pants, and layered clothing. See the full checklist on the Hunt page.

What if the weather is bad?

Pheasants love bad weather more than people do. We hunt rain, wind and snow — only severe conditions (lightning, blizzards) ground us. We'll work with you on a reschedule if needed.

How far in advance should I book?

Six to nine months is typical for prime weekends. Mid-week dates and late-season hunts (January) often have shorter lead times.

Do you offer corporate hunts?

Yes — corporate groups are some of our favorite bookings. We can host private retreats, custom branded experiences, and full-ranch buyouts.

Can I tip my guides?

Gratuities for guides are always appreciated but never expected. A typical thank-you is 15–20% of the hunt price, split between the guides.

How much does a hunt cost?
